Church Pastor: Rev. Wayne Dulson

WayneDulsonWayne is married to Gemma and they have two children, Keziah and Reuben. As a family they enjoy walking their rescue dog, Nala, and playing games and watching films together and baking.
 
Wayne has been in Baptist Ministry since 2001. After training for ministry in Cardiff Baptist College, he has served in churches in Upminster, Loughton and Portsmouth before coming to Billericay as the Church Pastor in 2023. Wayne has a heart to see people fall in love with Jesus and to then keep falling deeper in love with Jesus and believes the local church has a central role in working out this mission.
 
Wayne is originally from South Wales and loves Welsh Rugby (although this has been an up and down journey!)
For relaxation Wayne enjoys exploring new walks with their dog, especially when this walk finishes in a café or a country pub for a nice meal.
For most of his life Wayne has played drums and when he has the opportunity he loves playing in worship groups.
 

Community Pastor: Rev. Gary Bott

GaryBottGary is married to Katie and they have 3 growing sons!
Gary holds an MA in missional leadership and is committed to seeing the church engage with the community, where he is involved in the local school’s ministry and as a football pastor at Billericay Town. He has a love/hate relationship with Tottenham Hotspur and loves watching truck racing. In his spare time, he can be found chilling with a cup of tea as he embarks on various carpentry projects.
 

Pastoral Assistant: Roger Grimes

RogerGrimesRoger and his wife, Sally, moved to Billericay in 2002 and are actively involved in the church across its congregations specifically in Worship Leading. Roger has also undertaken some preaching and has also previously served as an Elder. They have 2 teenage children, Oliver and Annie who have grown up within Billericay Baptist Church.
Roger is a retired Police Officer having served in the Metropolitan Police for almost 31 years in a variety of roles. He believed God had a plan for him within the life of the church after retirement and was appointed Pastoral Assistant in October 2020. His heart is to care for and support people and see wholeness, restoration and healing whether spiritual, emotional or physical.
Roger enjoys running and going to the gym. He is also a keen cook and baker. He plays golf (badly!) and is an avid Norwich City fan
 

Administrator: Mary Dove

mary-dove-200x150Mary joined the team in 2019 as Administrator, having worked as a Teaching Assistant at Buttsbury Junior School for the 14 years prior to this.  Her background before having children was in publishing as a Technical Editor for GEC and later working within publishing for IBM, plus various aspects of administration for the AA and IBM, particularly within travel and education. 
Mary is married to Phil and has two great kids; Charlotte, who is our Children’s Worker, and Greg who works in IT in Bristol. Mary & Phil have attended BBC for 22 years, since moving to Essex for Phil’s job, and she has been involved in many aspects of the church, having taught in Beginners, run the Perry Street Coffee Rota for 14 years and led the TGIF Discipleship Group with Phil for about the same length of time. When not doing church stuff, she loves to sing in a choir and Mary & Phil spend lots of time (and money) going to music gigs. They enjoy travelling and entertaining. Mary is hoping to serve the Lord in this role to the best of her ability.
 

Church Secretary: John Powell

JohnPowellJohn is married to Liz. They have three children, Timothy, Benjamin and Ruth.
John grew up in Blackmore Baptist Church and was a Deacon there for 14 years. He was also an officer / Captain in the 1st Warley Boys’ Brigade in Brentwood for nearly 20 years.
John lived and worked abroad between 1999 and 2017. In Hungary John served the International Baptist Church of Budapest as an Elder; a worship leader, a youth leader; and a home group leader. In Ankara, John joined St. Nicolas’ Anglican Church where he was on the Church Council, a bible study group leader and, with Liz, led the Sunday school. In Zagreb, John was elected Chairman of the Anglican Chaplaincy of Zagreb, and appointed as a lay worship leader for the diocese of Europe.
John has served as a Deacon and Church Secretary for the past ten years. He and Liz are also Kingdom Kids leaders. During the week, John works for the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs where he is Head of Agricultural Sectors.
 

Elder: Fiona Burgess

FionaBurgessFiona joined Billericay Baptist Church in 1994, with her husband Mike, and their two daughters who grew up in the church. Fiona has worked as an engineer, missionary in Nepal and latterly as a teaching assistant and pastoral care giver in a local primary school. She has served in many areas of church life, including children’s work, outreach, running women’s conferences and, until recently, was our Fellowship Deacon. After sensing a call to serve the church, Fiona left her job last year and has been committing more time to working purposefully for the church and caring for the people in it. Alongside her responsibilities as an Elder, she additionally helps lead a discipleship group, organises Bring & Share lunches, runs Global Café, helps at Little Lights and works to make church a welcoming place for all.
 

Elder: Kevin Crosswell

KevinCrosswellKevin has attended Billericay Baptist Church since 1984 although we also lived in Germany for a total of six years since then due to his work with Ford Motor Company. Since retiring (early!) in 2015 he has been working part-time at a small CofE Primary School helping with property management and maintenance. He has served as an Elder at BBC for since 2006 and prior to this as a Deacon with responsibility for our buildings for 3 years. As well as preaching from time to time he is responsible for leading the Discipleship ministry stream which oversees our small groups.
 

Elder: Norbert Fullerton

NorbertFullertonNorbert is an Elder, responsible for worship and prayer. He joined BIllericay Baptist in 2010, is the leader of two of our men's discipleship groups, sings with our worship team and preaches periodically. Professionally, Norbert is an actuary and works for an asset manager in London.
Norbert mentors a few individuals, serves as a board member for a Foundation, and is passionate about education and supporting others to fulfil their God-given potential.
For fun, Norbert enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, playing table tennis competitively, performing, doing voiceovers and travelling.
 

Elder: Bernard Knight

BernardKnightBernard has been a member of Billericay Baptist Church since 1975 and has served in a number of roles over the years, including as a Deacon and also Church Secretary.
He has served as an Elder since 2000 and, as part of this role, currently has responsibility for overseeing our Fellowship Stream. This covers a variety of ministries in church life, focused mainly around our life together as a church family and includes our welcome team, pastoral care, refreshments & catering and the care & maintenance of our church buildings.
 

Elder: Dave Lodge

DaveLodgeDave is married to Fay and they have three children. He became a member of Billericay Baptist Church soon after arriving in Essex in 1997, having graduated with a Theology degree from LST in London. In 2005 he became a Deacon and served for about 8 years. He has served as an Elder since 2022 and, as part of this role, currently has responsibility for overseeing our Serving Stream. Dave is also involved with publicity, the website, and social media. He has also gained useful experiences in digital communication of the Gospel through his communications work with CVM and The Rooftop Ministries.
 

Elder: Ruth Strickland

RuthStrickandRuth is married with two children and works with Schools Ministry Billericay,  serving the young people and staff of the schools in Billericay and surrounding areas.  She has served as an Elder for a number of years and, as part of this role, currently has responsibility for overseeing our Mission and Evangelism Stream.
 

Trustee: Daniel Mayo

DanielMayoDaniel is married to Donna, with three children at secondary school / university age. The family joined the church in 2006 after moving to Billericay following a period living in the US, and is involved with Sunday school, Boy’s Brigade and the men’s discipleship groups. He has recently become a Trustee, looking to support the church in delivering its mission. Professionally, Daniel works as an industry analyst covering financial services technology, and socially, enjoys cycling, reading, and spending time with family & friends.
 

Trustee: Phil Walker

Phil is married with two daughters. He has recently become a Trustee.PhilWalker
 

Trustee: Richard Warrington

richard-warringtonRichard is married to Christina and they have one daughter, Rachelle. He has been at Billericay Baptist church since 1989 when he moved into the area and was baptised there in 1998.
Richard was a deacon from 2014-2016 and internal auditor for the church accounts for 5 years. Currently, Richard is the church’s Designated Person for Safeguarding and, since 2018, is serving as a Trustee with specific responsibility for Risk and Safeguarding.
During the week, he works within Risk & Compliance for a financial services firm in the City of London.
 

Trustee: Corinne White

corinne-white-150x200Corinne is married to Pete. She has been part of the church since childhood as her parents enrolled her in the Girls' Brigade (GB) and Sunday school.
She became a Christian through the loving prayers of the GB leaders and friends during a long spell in hospital as a young teenager.
35 years of Corinne’s work life was centred in the city, working as a Lloyds of London insurance broker and she now runs her own small company. She was a magistrate for 15 years stepping down in 2019.
Corinne has held many roles within the church including, Sunday school teacher, youth worker, deacon, mission co-ordinator and is currently serving as a trustee with special responsibility for employment and contracts.
She loves Jesus and how He is central to all her life. Corinne’s joy is spending her time with family & friends, travel and dancing.

We also have a great team of deacons, as well as many other volunteers, who help us to function as a church and keep all our activities going.
